Mobile App — Complete Guide — 5 min
Video coming soon — written guide below covers everything.

1 Download and install

The Proxiant app is available on iOS and Android:

Minimum OS requirements

PlatformMinimum versionRecommended
iOSiOS 15.0iOS 16.0 or later
AndroidAndroid 10 (API 29)Android 12 or later

After installing, grant the following permissions when prompted: Location (Always Allow), Camera, Photos/Media, and Notifications. All four are needed for full functionality in the field.

2 Logging in

Use the same email and password as your Proxiant web account. There is one account — the mobile app and the web dashboard are the same system, so your jobs, credentials, and settings are in sync in real time.

If you received a server invite email, tap the link in that email to set up your account and password first, then log in to the app with those credentials.

The app keeps you logged in indefinitely. You will only be asked to re-authenticate if you log out manually, or if an admin resets your credentials.

3 Your job list

After logging in, you land on your Jobs screen — a list of all jobs currently assigned to you. The list shows:

  • Recipient name and service address
  • Job status (Active, In Diligence, Completed, etc.)
  • Due date, color-coded by urgency (green = on time, amber = due soon, red = overdue)
  • Number of attempts logged
  • Rush indicator if the job is flagged Rush

Filtering and searching

Tap the filter icon at the top right to filter by status. Use the search bar to find a specific recipient name, address, or job number. Filters and search persist between sessions — tap the clear button to reset.

4 Opening a job

Tap any job in your list to open the full job detail view. This shows everything you need in the field:

  • Recipient description — physical description, vehicle information, and any special notes
  • Active address — primary service address with a tap-to-navigate button that opens your preferred Maps app
  • Documents — any documents uploaded to this job (court papers, special instructions)
  • Instructions — free-text instructions from the firm or client
  • Diligence requirements — if the job has a minimum attempt count or attempt schedule (e.g., "3 attempts on different days, at different times"), this is shown prominently so you don't miss it
  • Attempt history — all previous attempts on this job, with dates, times, and outcomes

5 Logging an attempt — full walkthrough

Tap Log Attempt on any active job to start the attempt logging flow. The flow guides you through every required field in sequence.

1

Select an outcome

Choose from a guided list of outcomes (e.g., "No Answer", "Door Answered — Wrong Person", "Served"). Outcomes are standardized per job type and jurisdiction.

2

Complete outcome-specific prompts

The app shows only the fields relevant to your selected outcome. For a "Served" outcome, you enter the person served and their relationship to the recipient. For "No Answer," you describe conditions at the premises.

3

Take photos

Tap the camera button to take photos directly, or select from your photo library. Photos are attached to this specific attempt. Take at least one photo of the premises.

4

GPS captured automatically

Your GPS coordinates are captured at the moment you submit the attempt. No action required — just make sure location permissions are set to "Always Allow" so coordinates are available even if the app is in the background.

5

Add additional notes (optional)

A free-text notes field is available for anything not captured by the structured prompts. This text appears in the attempt narrative on the affidavit.

6

Submit — immutable

Tap Submit to save the attempt. Once submitted, attempts cannot be edited or deleted. If you made an error, contact your firm admin who can void the attempt and add a correction note.

Tip: GPS location is captured automatically when you submit — you don't need to do anything. Just make sure location permissions are enabled before heading into the field.
Important: Make sure location permissions are set to "Always Allow" — not "Only While Using the App" — for accurate GPS on attempts, especially when submitting from the background.

6 Offline mode

Proxiant works fully offline. When you're in an area with no signal, the app automatically switches to offline mode.

How to tell you're offline

A prominent amber banner appears at the top of the screen reading "Offline — attempts will sync when connected." The jobs you had loaded before losing signal remain fully accessible.

Logging attempts offline

Attempt logging works identically when offline. Submit attempts normally — they are saved locally on your device with the exact timestamp at the moment you submit, not the sync time. When you reconnect, all pending attempts upload automatically in the order they were submitted.

Conflict handling

If a job was updated by someone else (e.g., your firm admin changed an instruction or re-assigned it) while you were offline, the app will show a conflict notice when you reconnect. Your locally logged attempts are preserved; only the job metadata (instructions, assignment status) updates from the server version.

Important: Offline attempts sync automatically when you get signal — do not manually re-enter them. Double-submitting is not possible, but manually re-entering would create duplicate attempt records.

7 The Hive on mobile

The Hive — Proxiant's job marketplace for independent process servers — is fully accessible from the mobile app.

Map view

Tap the Hive tab to see available jobs on a map centered on your current location. Job pins are clustered by proximity. Tap any cluster to zoom in; tap a pin to see job details including payout, due date, document count, and special instructions.

List view

Switch to list view to see the same jobs sorted by distance from you. The list shows estimated driving distance, payout, and urgency indicator.

Accepting and countering

Tap Accept Job to take a job at the posted rate. Tap Counter to propose a different rate — enter your counter amount and an optional note. The firm receives your counter and can accept, decline, or negotiate further.

Push notifications for new Hive jobs

Enable Hive notifications in your notification settings to receive push alerts when new jobs appear near you. Set a radius (default 25 miles) and choose which job types to be notified about.

8 Route optimization

When you have multiple jobs to attempt in a day, the route optimization tool plans the most efficient driving order.

  1. From your job list, tap Plan Route
  2. Select the jobs you want to include in today's route (or tap "Add All Active Jobs")
  3. Optionally set a starting location (defaults to your current GPS position) and an ending location (useful if you want to end near home)
  4. Tap Optimize — Proxiant calculates the most efficient driving order using real-time traffic data
  5. Review the optimized order and estimated total drive time
  6. Tap Start Route to begin — the first job's address opens in your Maps app for navigation

After completing or skipping a stop, the app automatically navigates to the next address. You can reorder stops mid-route by tapping and dragging in the route panel.

9 Push notifications

Proxiant sends push notifications for events relevant to you in the field. Configure your preferences under Profile → Notifications in the app.

NotificationDefault
New job assigned to youOn
Job instructions updatedOn
Job due date changedOn
Rush flag added to your jobOn
New Hive job near youOn (requires radius setup)
Hive counter acceptedOn
Pay released for completed jobOn

Toggle any notification type on or off individually. Notification settings sync across devices — changing them on mobile also updates your web notification preferences.

10 Your credentials

Your process server credentials (license number, license state, license expiration, county authorizations) are stored in your Proxiant profile and auto-populate affidavits via the {{server.license}} variable.

To view or update your credentials from mobile:

  1. Tap your profile avatar in the bottom tab bar
  2. Tap Credentials
  3. Edit any field — changes save immediately and are reflected on all future affidavits

If your license is approaching expiration, you'll see an amber warning badge on your profile icon. Proxiant will not prevent you from submitting attempts with an expired license, but firms will be notified.

11 Pay history

View your earnings directly from the mobile app under Profile → Pay History.

The pay history screen shows:

  • Each completed and payable job with its pay amount
  • Running total for the current pay period
  • Status of each payment (Pending, Processing, Paid)
  • Payout history — previous pay periods and amounts received

Pay amounts are shown after the job is marked payable by your firm. For Hive jobs with agreed rates, the amount is visible immediately after you complete the job.

Note: Pay history shows your pay per job, not the billing rate the firm charges the client. Margin information is not available to servers.

12 Tips for field use

📶
Pre-load before poor signal areas
Open your job list and tap each job to load job details before heading into areas with poor signal. Loaded jobs are cached and fully accessible offline.
Log attempts immediately
Don't wait until you're back in the car — log the attempt right at the location. The GPS timestamp is most accurate when captured at the scene.
📍
GPS at log time, not later
GPS coordinates are captured the moment you tap Submit — not when you open the log form. Being at the address when you submit is what matters for defensible GPS records.
🔋
Watch battery saver mode
Battery saver mode on both iOS and Android can limit background GPS access. If you notice GPS coordinates missing on attempts, check your power settings and allow Proxiant unrestricted location access.
Tip: On iOS, go to Settings → Proxiant → Location and select "Always." On Android, go to Settings → Apps → Proxiant → Permissions → Location → "Allow all the time." This ensures GPS works even when the screen is off.
